21st Birthday of "The Geebung Polo" Match

dinnerplain: Celebrate Easter with a difference this year at the 21st Geebung vs. Cuff 'n' Collar Polo Match at Hotham Airport on Easter Sunday. Thousands of spectators will gather at Horsehair Plain, Hotham Airport on Sunday 4 April to witness Victoria's top city based polo players (the "Cuff and Collar" team) do battle with the high country cattlemen (the "Geebung Polo" team).

This annual event originated 21 years ago over "a few quiet drinks" at the Dinner Plain Hotel, when a mix of city and country "lads" formed the institution now known as the Geebung Polo Club.

Today the event offers a fun day out for the whole family with Hotham Alpine Resort and Dinner Plain Community hosting a full schedule of activities including live music, running races, tug-o-war, frozen chook throwing, fashions on the field and the much anticipated easter egg drop from a helicopter. The main attraction of the day is the exciting polo match itself. Around 2500 spectators head to the polo each year.

Make it a fun-filled Easter weekend by booking a stay at one of Hotham or Dinner Plain's many accommodation options. Join the Dinner Plain Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, head to the Omeo Rodeo, or explore the many mountain trails on foot or by bike. Wine and dine at Dinner Plain's Rundell's Bar & Lodge, DP Hotel and Cilantro Tapas & Wine Bar or head to The General Store at Hotham. Alternatively, sit back and relax in the stunning outdoor Japanese onsen at the DP Onsen + Spa.

Gates for the Geebung Polo Match open from 10am and tickets cost $20 (adult), $15 (Child) or $70 (family up to 3 kids). Proceeds go to the local CFA.
