La Hoya ski resort and mountain activities center is located close to the town of Esquel, Province of Chubut. Its name derives from the mountain shape, which is a wide glacier circular basin, where all ski runs join at the same point at the base. In the 1930's, pioneer skiers from the region. The resort receives a lot of powder, and the season here runs well into October due to the orientation of the resort. The resort is popular with families, and there exists great off-piste skiing and riding.
There is a family hostel at the base of the ski areas. Additional hotels, motels and other lodging options are located in Esquel.
On-site ski and snowboard lessons, Snow Garden for children's ski and snowboard lessons, cafe & restaurant, rentals, lockers.
