Stoneham could be considered a city ski resort. It's located less than 20 minutes from downtown Quebec City, but has some ski vacation appeal as well, with impressive vertical and plenty of variety. Stoneham is 2.5 hours from Montreal.
The resort has 1,420 feet of vertical, 32 runs, a snowpark, a halfpipe and a total of eight lifts, including three quads and a double chairlift. The skiing takes place on several mountain faces, all of which are identified by a number. The trails are numbered, too. Stoneham Mountain offers 16 trails at night, the largest network for night skiing in Canada. The resort will soon undertake a multi-phased $6 million snowmaking project. The first phase, beginning in 2005/06, will include a half-million-dollar investment in the snowmaking system.50 condominiums and hotel at the foot of the mountain along with 70 ski in/ski out condominium units at mid-mountain. Shuttle bus available for condominium residents and skiers staying in Quebec, 15 miles away.
