Alyeska is where Olympic Gold Medalist Tommy Moe trained. There are two certified (International Ski Federation) downhill courses. Alyeska is World Class, with an average of 631 inches of snowfall every year and 1,000 acres of terrain to romp in. Alyeska Resort is a favored resort for family vacations, rated in the Top 25 ski resorts in North America by Skiing Magazine. Mt. Alyeska offers 2,500 vertical feet of terrain. There are wide open bowls, and long top to bottom runs. The area has the only four diamond hotel in Alaska conveniently located with ski in/ski out access to the trails. The Alyeska Resort Aerial Tramway is a seven-minute ride to a viewing deck with panoramic views of the mountains, hanging glaciers, sparkling streams, towering spruce, and an array of wildlife.
The Alyeska Prince Hotel will call and notify its guests in the middle of the night when the Northern Lights are out. Well, they don't call everybody -- just the ones who sign up.
