Area Profile

Since its opening in 1935, the Badger Pass Ski Area has been a favorite vacation spot for generations of skiers. Today, California's original ski resort in the spectacular Sierra Nevada is still an ideal place to learn to ski. Badger Pass is a one-hour drive from Yosemite Valley on the Glacier Point Road. A free bus leaves daily from Curry Village, the Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite Lodge and the Wawona Hotel.

Lodging is within walking distance of the slopes. Free bus service offered to ski area from Yosemite Valley. One hotel and two lodges with approximately 787 rooms. Yosemite lodging guests ski free Mon-Fri.

Skiing programs include, "Sit Ski Instructional Program" for handicapped skiers, Midweek ski lesson packages for those staying at Badger Pass Lodge.

Glacier Point lodge for overnight cross country trips. 40 kilometers of cross country track no fee, mountaineering at area, ice skating nearby, NASTAR available (Wed,Sat,Sun) and snowboarding.
