Copper Mountain is within shuttle range of Denver International Airport (75 miles) and a lot of folks like to fly in early so they can get on the slopes by noon. They have 22 lifts serving 2,433 acres of playland, with 125 trails slightly weighted to more advanced skiers. The trail systems are separated by ability levels so beginners don't cross in front of experts. Copper's village has been re-done and is now among the best and most convenient of the Colorado destination resorts, with plenty to keep you occupied off-slope.

Copper's Central Reservations offers one-stop vacation shopping with discounts on a variety of things offered if booked as part of a lodging package. Ski and snowboard lessons and rentals. Restaurants, child care including Kids' Night Out and in-room.

A boarder's playground. Copper offers the Kidz Terrain Park for young'uns and newbies, complete with mini rails, boxes, jumps, and a mini-pipe to play in. Then there's Night Rider, at the base of the American Eagle lift, which is, of course, open nights. Eagle Jib Park sits atop American Eagle. Parks are groomed every night and the pipes are cut every other. Rentals available.
