Steamboat is where Olympian Billy Kidd hangs his hat and, when he's in town, you (and many of your new found friends) can ski with him every day. This is the wild West and the atmosphere in the village and on the slopes reflects it. Yes, you can wear your cowboy hat when you ski. Be sure there's a strap under it. The town is as much fun as the mountain, too.
Hotels, condominiums, and townhouses available at base and nearby town. Camper facilities located in town, with utilities and convenience stores. Other nearby facilities are Ski Time and Fish Creek Campgrounds within five miles of the ski resort.

Ski shop, boutique, specialty, drug, liquor, cleaners, bank and post office at area. Full shoping conveniences within two miles. Nursery/child care available for ages 6 months-6 years. Ski and cross country rental and repair shop available at slope. Special instructions offering classes in racing, freestyle, cross country, deep powder, moguls, snowboarding, handicapped, junior and children.
Cross country, touring, indoor tennis, sleigh riding, and snowboarding. Dog sledding, ice fishing, mountaineering, sledding, snowcat riding, snowmobiling, tobogganing, and tubing nearby. Ice skating at Howelson Hill; swimming at Hot Springs pool in town; athletic club nearby; movie theatre downtown; NASTAR course available; training and self-timed race course daily. Billy Kidd Performance Center offers multi-day sessions.
Terrain park available for snowboarding in four separate areas. Mavericks Superpipe is 650 feet long, 50-feet wide, has 15 foot walls, and a 17 foot radius. Steamboat's SoBe terrain park adjacent to Mavericks, features an outdoor sound system, a variety of rails; kinked, sliders, rainbows, "S," mailboxes, double barrel, and Mini-Mav, a miniature version of the superpipe with five-foot walls, good for novice riders.
Cross country terrain in three major facilities, Steamboat Touring Center has 30 kilometers of trails, guided tours on Rabbit Ears Pass.
