Sunlight Mountain sits above the town of Glenwood Springs, essentially between Vail and Aspen. This family-oriented resort is a worthy alternative to either mega-resort for a few days. They boast a 2,010-foot vertical drop and there's often plenty of untracked powder. Sunlight offers beautiful views of majestic Mount Sopris and the surrounding Elk Mountain Range, as well as hundreds of acres of mild greens, intermediate slopes and black diamond extremes to satisfy all levels of abilities.

Sunlight has acquired and built new jumps, fun boxes, rails, even a volcano and a quarterpipe! New features will be unveiled at each round of the annual Rail Jam Series. Their three parks are designated expert, intermediate, and beginner. Inverted aerials are allowed.
The cross country center offers 29 kilometers of groomed cross country and snowshoe trails. Beginning, intermediate and advanced trails wind their way through a gorgeous high valley, flanked by Sunlight Mountain and the 10,300 foot Williams Peak. Cross Country and Snow Shoe rentals are available at the Sunlight Mountain Ski and Bike shop as well as up on the mountain. There is no charge for trail use.
