Ski Sundown is close to the Metro market of Hartford. In fact, it is located in New Hartford. The resort was one of the first to welcome snowboarding in 1984. There are 15 trails, and the resort enjoys 100 percent snowmaking coverage. The area recently expanded and regraded its learning area, and three terrain parks will be offered, ranging in size from small to large. Clinics are offered every day.
On-site lodging is not available, but numerous country hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts are located within a 10-mile radius.
Facilities include cafeteria-style food service, lounge, ski shop, and full alpine snowboard and boot rental shop. Mountain View Deck with outdoor barbecue on weekends. Ski and board school. 100 percent snowmaking. The resort's Cafe Lounge was renovated last season.
