Shawnee Peak has increased its uphill capacity by 40 percent over the past few years with the installation of a quad, triple and suface lift, as well as increasing its snowmaking capacity. There's glade skiing in Sherwood Forest for intermediate skiers; advanced skiers can explore the glade areas off the east side. A learning center, conveniently located in front of the base lodge, features a surface lift available at no cost which parents can use to introduce their kids to skiing or boarding without having to buy a lift ticket. Two trails and a new beginner-friendly conveyor lift have been added for 2005/06. The resort has enlarged the L'il Pine beginner area, added lights on the two new trails, and has paved the parking lot.
