Shanty Creek offers 47 trails over two distinctive ski areas. All the tough stuff is on Schuss Mountain. Slopeside condos have been built and the tube park expanded. Looking for a thrill ride? Make a run down Kingdom Come with its 450-foot vertical drop.
Shanty Creek Resort and its ski facilities offer three different lodging options: Cedar River Village is adjacent to the north face of Schuss Mountain. The Lodge at Cedar River is home to 85 luxury suite condominiums. Summit Village offers a 360-degree view of Lake Bellaire. Schuss Village, at the foot of Schuss Mountain, offers deluxe villas and condos bordering the Schuss Mountain course.
Restaurants, children's programs, fitness center with wellness spa, heated pools, and shuttle service. Kids 8 and under ski free. 100 percent snowmaking.
Cross country skiing wends its way through all three of the area's villages. Horse drawn sleigh rides, and video arcade. Summit Village's tubing park has its own double chair and now includes a half-mile long "extreme" run. Ice skating, snowshoeing, night skiing, and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Two terrain parks: Dish the Dew is on Summit Mountain and Dew Drop Zone is on Schuss Mountain. Expanded half pipe. Trails are open to snowboarders. Rentals and lessons are available on site.
Thirty kilometers of cross country trails groomed for skaters as well as striders. Complete Nordic center features rentals as well as group and private instruction.
