In 1954, a cleared slope, a small building and a rope tow appeared just south of the Minnesota River. It was called Buck Hill. Four years later, Buck boasted 4 lifts and 3 slopes. Today, you will find 45 skiable acres covering 12 runs, serviced by 11 lifts. They have just over 300 feet of vertical. The ski area's racing program is nationally-acclaimed. SKI Magazine calls Buck the "Legendary capital of American ski racing." The 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, saw two Buck Hill skiers on the U.S. Olympic Team. Both Kristina Koznick and Tasha Nelson started their skiing careers as members of the Buck Hill Ski Racing Team. Busy and popular, Buck Hill is conveniently located just 15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis in Burnsville.
No lodging on-site, but, being located next to metropolitan Minneapolis, lodging is available within 15 minutes.
Race timing equipment, ski and snowboard school, and rentals. One hundred percent snowmaking.
Snowtubing, skiing, snowboarding, and NASTAR racing.
Snowboarding is available throughout the mountain including a snowboard park, a halfpipe, a mini halfpipe, and a freestyle terrain area.
