Peak Resorts, Inc., owners of sister resorts Snow Creek and Hidden Valley, Missouri, Mad River and Boston Mills-Brandywine, Ohio, and Paoli Peaks, Ind., purchased Crotched Mountain in 2002. They have budgeted $8-9 million dollars toward its improvement over a five-year period and have been making slow, steady progress to their infrastructure.
Crotched is home to the highest snowmaking production capacity per acre in New England. You'll find 17 trails with 28 percent geared toward beginners, 50 percent intermediate, and 22 percent advanced. There are two quads, one triple, one double, and one "Wonder Carpet." Crotched is located on highway NH47, some 60 miles from Boston; 35 miles from Fitchburg and Concord, and 23 from Manchester.No lodging on site. Inns and B&Bs in area, many offering package deals.
