All of you double black diamond skiers/boarders can head for Plattekill Mountain next time you want a challenge. In fact, 20 percent of the mountain is dedicated to experts, with 20 percent earmarked advanced, 40 percent intermediate, and 20 percent beginner. It has a vertical drop of 1,100 feet and snowmaking covers 75 percent of its skiable terrain. More than 7,000 feet of snowmaking pipe and a new pump has been installed for 2005/06, which will double Plattekill's snowmaking abilities. The resort has also added a new "natural terrain park" nestled in the woods between the Lower Face and Shredded Mozzarella trails.
A variety of lodging is available in the area within a few miles of the resort. Plattekill offers free lift tickets to kids 17 and under with every adult ticket for those who stay overnight at any of Plattekill's participating lodging partners.
35 trails and 3 lifts on 75 acres of terrain with a 3,500 foot summit elevation and 1,100 foot vertical drop. Base lodge offers all the amenities including a full rental shop, ski school, and national ski patrol.
Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and mountain biking during the off season is available.
All 35 trails are open to snowboarders, along with a new terrain park with a quarter-pipe. A full line of rentals are available, as well as instruction and lesson packages.
