The newly re-opened Tuxedo Ridge ski area is within an hour's drive of midtown Manhattan. Primarily a day area, it caters to both skiers and snowboarders. The new owners have remodeled the warming hut and lodge; changed the cafeteria into more of a lodge style with a full grand piano, hired Brian Birch - a Culinary Institute Graduate - to run the lodge. The menu has also been upgraded and they have installed new bathrooms. They have all new rental equipment, new boarding equipment and revamped their rentals area to provide a more friendly use area.
Primarily a day area, there are a number of hotels 15 miles from the resort: Sheraton, Holiday Inn, Marriot, Ramada, Wellesly.
Ski and snowboard school and programs, rentals, repairs, retail shop, and first aid. One hundred percent snowmaking.
Ski teams, NASTAR racing, and night skiing. The ski center is adjacent to Sterling Forest State Park which offers winter recreation.
All slopes are open to snowboarders along with a terrain park. Snowboard and boot rentals are available as well as lessons.
