Sugar Mountain is a long-time favorite with families and is the largest ski area in North Carolina. There are 115 skiable acres and 20 runs, along with eight lifts, including one triple, four doubles, and three surface lifts. The terrain park has its own surface lift. There is also snowshoeing, tubing, and ice skating available.
Lodging ranges from motel type rooms and condos to chalets and homes located on- or off-slope. Packages are available.

Skiboarding, snowshoeing, night lit tubing park that has two lifts and is 700 feet long, night skiing, and a game room.
Snowboarders welcome; rentals and lessons available. Snowboard park open when snow conditions permit, and lit for night use.
