Snowbird has the largest vertical rise in Utah and is among the top ten in the nation. Located a mile down canyon from neighboring resort Alta, Snowbird offers a challenging brand of skiing and riding, along with enough intermediate terrain to entertain guests of average ability. Snowbird has 2,500 acres to play in with 11 lifts serving 89 runs. The area is 29 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, making same-day arrivals and skiing a logistical reality.
Four slopeside lodges -- the Cliff Lodge, Lodge at Snowbird, The Inn and Iron Blosam -- offer rooms by the night, week or longer as well as timeshare opportunities. Snowbird offers 882 total rooms. The Cliff Lodge has been renovated. Features include upgraded lodging rooms with new furnishings, flat screen televisions, bedding, bathroom tile, fixtures and artwork.
Ice skating, night skiing, luging, tubing, spa, and rooftop pool. The lodge also offers a video games plaza, shops, restaurants, and four bars. Snowbird's Mountain School offers instruction.
Skiing, snowboarding, special first-track skiing, snowcat and heli-skiing, guided snowshoe outings, indoor tennis, racquetball, squash, and fitness facilities.
The expanded Snowbird Terrain Park moved to the Blue Bell run last season and now is serviced by the nearby Baby Thunder lift. Snowbird's Superpipe is located on the Big Emma run and is accessed by the Mid Gad or Gadzoom lifts.
