Burke Mountain is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, seven miles off exit 23 on Interstate 91. The "old school" wooded trails have their own rare charm and beauty, unique from the corporate resort mold. Our rural location shelters it from being overrun by city traffic. Unlike other overcrowded mountains, Burke rarely has lift lines, so skiers and riders can always experience fresh conditions and go up and down the trails all day long. Burke Mountain serves as the training grounds for Burke Mountain Academy, a boarding school for Alpine and Nordic skiers in grades 8-12. BMA has placed 42 skiers in the Olympics over the past 33 years.
The resort has made added quite a few amenities for teh 2005/06 season. A new complimentary baggage check is available seven days a week in the Sherburne base lodge. A new high-speed quad, the Sherburne Express, has been added. A free ski/board check on weekends and holidays can be found in the Sherburne lodge. Three terrain parks are now available.Burke Mountain no longer handles lodging. 15 motels with 1100 beds nearby. Also available nearby are condos, inns, B & Bs, and hotels.
