Area Profile

Mount Snow offers a wide variety of terrain and challenge for all abilities. The resort is located near major metropolitan areas such as New York City, Boston, Albany, and Hartford. Gentle beginners' slopes, blue cruisers, challenging black diamonds, technical tree terrain, four freestyle terrain parks and a Superpipe guarantee there is something for everyone at Mount Snow. The Main Mountain is the heart of resort activities and events. Twelve lifts access the varying terrain, including the majority of learning terrain. More advanced skiers and riders will enjoy the 12 trails and two lifts on the North Face. The Sunbrook area, on the south face of the mountain, features 10 trails serviced by 2 lifts with great open-trail skiing and riding, especially on those sunny days. Carinthia offers some steep pitches like Mine Shaft and Lower Nitro, but also has a good variety of terrain for those looking to mix it up. Last season, Mt. Snow sold Haystack mountain, allowing resort managers to concentrate on making Mt. Snow the best resort possible.

Lodging Profile

Owns and operates the slopeside Grand Summit Resort Hotel, Snow Lake Lodge and several condominium complexes within the base area. More than 50 accommodation choices from Vermont country inns to quaint lodges and conveniently located motels.

Services Profile

Five base lodges, one summit lodge, Clock Tower Building including equipment rental and repair shop, Welcome Center and child care, tubing park, mini-snowmobile children operations and snowmobile tours, conference and group services Medical Center/First Aid building, SprintÒ Perfect Turn Discovery Center, Mount Snow Sports shops, Backside snowboard shop, ten food outlets, eight bars including the Snow Barn night club, spa and fitness, sleigh rides, and special events.

Area Recreation Profile

A variety of activities are offered including tubing park, snowmobile, cross country and snowshoe touring centers, sleigh rides, over 40 restaurants, 50+ accommodation choices, free MOOver transportation system, shopping, museums, and theaters.

Snowboarding Profile

All 104 trails are open to snowboarders along with a superpipe and four terrain parks of varying degrees. Clinics, boot and board rentals, repair and retail sales are all offered. For 2005/06 Mount Snow will replace more than 2,100 feet of snowmaking pipe, and carve both the SoBe Gut Superpipe and Tubing Park into the ground before opening day. By shaping these features out of earth, less snowmaking is required to build and open these two popular attractions. The resort also purchased a state-of-the-art ParkBully groomer with a 330-horsepower Mercedes Benz engine.

Cross Country Profile

Advanced-only 2.5 mile cross country trail. A variety of cross country ski touring centers are located within the Mount Snow Valley.
