Stratton Mountain Resort, owned and operated by Intrawest, is located in Southern Vermont and offers 90 different trails on a single summit that is stretched out over a 500-acre area. Twelve chairlifts, summit gondola and the only six-passenger high-speed detachable chair lift in the New England area service the mountain's 2,003 vertical drop. Stratton added a new "gladed experience" called "Test Pilot" last season. Called a "web of trails" or a "blue/black experience," the addition bumps up the resort's total gladed area to 130 acres. Stratton was truly the first resort in America to welcome Jake Burton Carpenter and his new snowboard concept and the resort is home to the famed U.S. Open Snowboarding Championship each March. Stratton is less than 30 minutes from the outlet shopping mecca of Manchester.
Slopeside condominiums, lodges, and full-service hotels are available.
Resort shuttle, childcare for ages six weeks and older, sports center with indoor tennis and pool, fitness classes and massage, shops and restaurants in the village along with 75 designer outlets in nearby Manchester. KidsKamp is the new meeting place for Stratton's Junior Ski and Snowboard School. Under 21 Club helps entertain in the evenings with movies, games, and much more.
Snowshoe tours at the summit, two Nordic centers, ice skating, sleigh rides, live entertainment throughout the village.
All 90 trails and glades are open to snowboarders. Home of the world's first snowboarding school, 420 foot long Superpipe, halfpipes and six terrain parks are also offered.
More than 30 kilometers of groomed trails at two Nordic Centers. Rentals and instructions available along with tours.
