Ski Bluewood, located near Dayton in the Umatilla National Forest in southeast Washington State, can claim the state's second highest base elevation at 4,545 feet. It tops out at 5,670 feet. Annual snowfall averages 300 inches. If, perchance, you're not liking the day, simply return you lift ticket by 11 a.m. and you'll get a voucher for another day.
No lodging directly on-site, but bed and breakfast and Bluewood packages with accommodations are available in Dayton, 21 miles away.
Full service cafeteria and pub, learning center that offers group and private lessons in skiing, snowboarding and telemark instruction, as well as women's workshops. Retail and rental and repair shop along with a racing program are offered.
Ski touring at the area, cross country trails, snowmobiling nearby, racing program, and various ski and snowboarding clinics.
Snowboarding is allowed including a terrain park. Learning center provides a full range of snowboard lessons with boardercross events held during the season.
