Snow Report Perisher 2017 - Trip Reports, Pics & Conditions

Great day today, snowed lightly but steadily until about 9:30-9:45am in Smiggs and snow quality stayed really nice with the cold temps. Got cut up in high traffic areas a bit towards the end of the day. Wind picked up in the afternoon, some very nice windblown around the trees but exposed faces...

    Observations 14-20th August

I'd guess about 70-80cm for Perisher since Wednesday based on their reporting (they didn't report Wednesday daytime snowfall it was about 10-15cm).

    Observations 14-20th August

Perisher claiming another 35cm overnight so storm totals from Wednesday morning would be around 70cm-80cm.

    Predictions 15-21Aug

With 40-45cm of snow fallen already at Perisher, and another 20-30cm tonight, I would definitely expect 80cm by Saturday morning IMO. Would be a really good result and top end of most forecasts.

    Observations 14-20th August

Perisher reporting 30cm inclusive of what fell last night, so storm total would be around 40cm-45cm.

    Observations 14-20th August

I would definitely say Perisher are underreporting. Unless the 24hr totals are not inclusive of yesterday and are just overnight, and even then they may have gone a bit under. It was hammering it down most of the night.

20cm on top of the 10-15cm that fell yesterday, or inclusive?

    Observations 14-20th August

Looks like the cover is holding up fairly ok at Perisher. If the snow that's starting now continues and we get that 50cm+, I would expect some nice riding this weekend. Fingers crossed.

    Predictions 15-21Aug

For NSW or VIC? Or both?
  17. Roarkie

    Observations 3rd -9th August

It's snowing on the cams, not overly heavy, but snowing none the less. The Perisher Valley AWS is extremely susceptible to freezing and can stop ticking over moisture, especially when snowing.

Coming down hard again on the Front Valley cam at Perisher. The Storm that just keeps giving!
