Thanks everyone for your help, would love to visit Noz but nice accommodation is really hard to find this late. I managed to find a great to place to stay on my dates in Hakuba - so I booked it. Yew 81 sleeps to go! Next dilemma - which skis to take, the trusty Salomon 1080 gun or the Shoguns...

Hi All, I've just booked flights to Narita on 8th Jan for 10 days and have no idea where to ski. I've been to Niseko a few times and have decided to ski a Honshu resort. Think maybe Hakuba or Noz but am really struggling to figure which suits best. I'm taking the family, all good...

decimated past participle, past tense of dec·i·mate (Verb) Verb Kill, destroy, or remove a large percentage of. Drastically reduce the strength or effectiveness of (something): "plant viruses that can decimate yields". I think decimated is fairly accurate

Yeah the sat is looking the goods, we should be OK. Anybody like to hazard a guess if that prefrontal band is likely to come as snow or rain?. I also observe it is bloody warm in Syd, my thermometer is showing 29!

    Observations: June 21st - 25th System

OK now I understand, no boot pack when we went so I guess we started it. It was a slog in places but really worth it.
  17. Style Doggie

    Observations: June 21st - 25th System

Quads only running to mid so we came over from the top of mt P. what's boot pack? If that means how much were we sinking when footing it, if you stayed on the crust it was fine but on the wind blown pockets it was up to knee.

    Observations: June 21st - 25th System

Footed it to the top of Olympic before lunch, flamin windy but well worth it. Untracked and about 20 to 30cms deep and dry. Snowing lightly on and off, the cover is in great shape.

    Observations: June 21st - 25th System

Just got back from Guthega, what an epic day!. Boot deep and light all day long, found places to lay down freshies every run. Been skiing NSW resorts for 25 years and definitely the best day I've had in Oz, perhaps even better than many Hokkaido days (maybe I'm still a bit excited). Weather wise...

    Observations: June 21st - 25th System

Snowed almost all day at Perisher, good skiing but not great, soft fresh snow everywhere however you'd be hard pressed to call it powder, I clipped a few hidden rocks when venturing under ropes etc. Vis was patchy, winds were high and not enough terrain was open. Was looking good for tomorrow...
