    Another bloody sleeping bag thread!

The bag is actually for the +1 but I don't really need it until our big Japan Sept '22 mega hiking trip. Just planning in advance.

    Another bloody sleeping bag thread!

I hope so. I just read on the USPS website all shipments/mail to Australia are suspended until further notice - regardless of delivery category. (@Nov'21)

Good news! An unexpected email out of the blue today from Hermits Hut - the Versalite was shipped out today. Now how many months until it lands on my doorstep

    A New Wonnangatta Mystery

Nah - I reckon it’s now either burnt, buried or being sold as spare parts.

    Another bloody sleeping bag thread!

Yeah - Dan told me at the outset (early May) that it would be about a 3month wait for my WM order to be shipped - that was fine. It's now Nov(!) - but Dan's been honest, friendly and upfront the whole time and has offered a full refund each time I call - can't complain about the service at Hermit's.

    Another bloody sleeping bag thread!

I have 6 OS orders since early August - so far only 2 have (only just) arrived - Nov! One $$$ from 7th August I’ve been eagerly awaiting - and still waiting! (Not to mention the Versalite from May!) All except 1 I paid for expedited shipping.

Yeah - if any product requires VWXYZ in the manufacturing process but item W is simply not available anywhere (due to the current worldwide supply/distribution crisis) then the product just can not be made.

    Another bloody sleeping bag thread!

Ordered/paid for the Western Mountaineering Versalite (+10% overfill) from Hermit's Hut back in early May. Now Nov5th and still waiting! (I have been in contact with HH throughout) Hermit's Hut (always fabulous) today have kindly offered me a full refund and advise that WM are currently just not...

Coronavirus - travel during and after COVID

Just to add (re mixing) - my BIL had AZ/Pz/Pz and that is recognised as fully vaxxed because there were 2 of the same with the required intervals between 2.

My +1s passport (Australian PR) expired back in May - been meaning to renew since. Went to check out the application process for a renewal last night - next/first available appointment for passport renewal is in August 2022!!! FFS!

    Technical Earthquakes & Volcanoes

There was one in Melb in early July - EC was in Epping (a 3?) I was lying on the lounge surfing net when (I initially thought) I felt a super heavy double dump truck full of boulders slowly drove down our small street - very 'rumbly' and then I realised it was a solid tremor. Only lasted about...

    Technical Earthquakes & Volcanoes

It was weird how my pup suddenly started getting SUPER anxious about 5~10secs before it actually started. He sensed something was about to happen.

    Technical Earthquakes & Volcanoes

Daughter showed me the video report from the seismo-centre (Melb?) by duty seismologist - all the red seismograph rings all overlapped about ~10km east of Gaffneys Ck.

What was your first bush walk ?

My kids (now F18/F23) were bushwalking on multi day hikes and overnight Xskiing trips since they were about 5yrs old. My 23yr old still embraces it but the 18yr old is now a bit - Meh.

What was your first bush walk ?

I have a 10litre/49gram kitchen sink for hiking - love it! But yes the added 49gms is a bit excessive these days.
