I drove from western Sydney to Moree today via Lithgow, Mudgee and Coonabarabran. Temps didn't get past single digits everywhere I drove. I did see some hail still on the ground this morning from yesterday's storm in the Blue mountains.

I haven’t seen a single report of how the actual snow was on the mountain, not a single face covered in snow. Anyone have any idea what the skiing was like yesterday?

While they went slightly positive it was only 3c in Jindy at my place. Pretty flat temps across the region.
Looks like they have gone negative again now.
Yup. Same here.
Was always going to happen. The quicker it pisses off and the sun comes out the better

A lot of short term holiday makers and social media type of people, as well as KT will always be UP when we get A lot of new snow. Reality was very different. Last two days we got very wet. Came home at 11am got changed into dry gear, regrouped and headed back out. My calves and hamstrings are stretched out and sore from jumping around and getting stuck in the deep stuff. Still fun tho

I ventured into Yaouk yesterday and found a pretty nice scene. The rain seemed to be transitioning to snow at around 1100m.

Lucky fella seeing it like that. Enough snow to create a wonderland but safe enough to drive on as not too deep on the road... W

Snow pack this morning is now the new base that was so desperately needed IMO. Some real deep snow that will pack down nicely. Next predicted fall on the coming weekend should consolidate the lot. It was tough going off the groomers today following the tail end of that weather system.

PV weather site. That’s Kahane Lodge in the background for any SASC members or guests.

Snowed in rope tow. It was head height a week ago.

Ops folks almost stuck trying to get the cordage out.

Moonbah. Final tally was 71mm. Last week we had to buy and truck in house water

I've noticed a few photos up and around Kahane in this thread.

Slightly off topic:

As a Vic I’m thrilled to see at least some our ski fields get a dump and truely look like a winter cover.

Forgetting lockdown, it’s absolutely gauging to see system after system peak in Or before WA and slide past SE Australia, delivering rain or very little snow.

I think 2018(?) was a bit like this and then it ramped dramatically. But the last really dud year in. VIC (coinciding with a very modified Hoppet) was about 2011. The odds for a bad one (south) were growing after a few pretty good years.

As I quoted elsewhere if I have to be in lockdown, perhaps it’s the year to have a bad winter?

Addendum:
I love Apple speelchocks. ‘Gauging’ should have been ‘galling’.
