@ Gordon near Ballarat. about 2-4 cm
LM reporting 8cm so far from this system
Maybe 5cm in Thredbo village and a nice view from Dead Horse Gap
Snow was nice and light
There must have been snow in Narby (330m asl) overnight, even if it didn't settle properly. I got in my car at 6:55 am, turned on the wipers to clear the windscreen, and they brushed aside enough to see that there had been snow on the windscreen.
Definitely a southern system:
Baw Baw - 13 cm
Lake Mountain - 8cm
Buller - ?
Falls Creek - 4cm
Hotham - 6 cm
Perisher - 5 cm
Thredbo - 2 cm
Further, BB, LM & Buller the only ones expecting snow today
Boyce, Orange, Bathurst and even Goulburn A/P all in the negs overnight.
Hellava windy day here at Wandella yesterday. Recorded 103 kmh on the Davis just before 3:00 pm. That's the highest gust since I started keeping records, 8 years ago.
Still some hanging around @ Gordon
Nice, looks like you got as much as some of the resorts.
A staff member just told me this morning that it was snowing in Narby at 7pm. I didn't even know. I got home at 6:50pm and was warming the house and feeding the dogs at 7.
Trying to figure out if this webcam shot from Ben Lomond is just a camera aberration, an awesome sky colour or Aurora Australis? It seems too bright to be middle of the night stuff and not sure I trust the time and date stamp
Heavy wet snow showers until about 2am and then turned to proper snow heavy at times until about 4.30am.
Only a dusting stuck tho. Very nice little fall indeed.(strezlecki rangers 410m asl)
I bet it's fantastic on the hill today. A bit of fresh, cold temps, clearing skies and dropping winds. And pretty much all lifts still open.
I think that view is looking to the West, the building shadows are to the South side. My guess, afternoon light through high cloud.
Maybe someone who has been there will know.
It was pretty good
This morning was very cold, felt like winter, with a bit of wind and mostly clear skies. We had a tiny flurry of snow around mid-day. Clouds have rolled in this afternoon and it's stayed cold but the wind has dropped off.
The snow was firm, with pockets and patches of fresh
everywhere. There is a layer of ice not far under but it's not too problematic.
Sun coming out at Buller after light snow all day.
I might go for a chookfoot this arvo when CG gets back from skiing.
Cloudy and snowing again!
POW , you predict of 30cm by months end is at 5cm or so, good start
Baw Baw did well, I didn't think there'd be much left in it for them.
All other resorts within expectations.
Got 3-5cm up near Glen Wills (The Knocker) yesterday arvo/evening. Still pretty chilly up here
The seasons were sparring today at Mt Buller. Spring versus winter, and I’m pleased to observe that winter is the winning champion, hands down. Blue skies and sunshine peeped through very occasionally and very briefly, but then winter kicked spring right out the door again. Boot deep fresh powder on the southern side, very cold and very powdery as snow continued to fall for most of the day. It felt more like early August than mid September
Yeah but Winter still sent nudes to Tassie.
Correct (at Perisher):
Very nice, firm snow after the recent slush, with lovely cool conditions.
Below 10C in Sydney this morning on the coast for possibly the last time until May.
I'm going to miss my cool mornings
And I am not
You'll get plenty in Canberra
It's more that I am ready for spring (minus the magpies).
