Interschools next week @rocketboy .
Big winds across the ranges now...funky stuff on the doppler out oberon way.
Stuck to my descision not to go up with you. I chose poorly.
Dumping again @ Buller. No surprise when you look at the radar.
I observe a furphys (stubbie) worth of snow at DP since 9pm last night
I observed sleet falling and snow on side of road driving between berridale and jindy earlier
Surely tomorrow will be the best day at Buller since 2012, maybe 2000?
Do we have observed storm totals from the majors yet?
No. No chance. There's days in 2004 and 2008 that would need another meter to be beaten.
Tassie rain shadow looks like kicking in soon.
The Otways disturbance is giving Buller and LM a good look at the leftovers tonight.
ha ha. I'll just glare at them up on SV. With everything open it should be manageable.
Lightly snowing at Corrin Forest ACT 6pm
Nah I doubt it will be better than today. Hasn't snowed that much since lifts closed and it looks like it will dry up after midnight.
Driving between yass and boorowa i observed heavy rain at 3 degrees.
Been 4-5 years since that kinda rock-garden-fill-up-steps-disappear kinda action IMO
I remember vermillion and CC goin' nuts and a valued member posting alternate cam pics of Bullville dumpage..... #sogood #sohappy #❄️
About the same here North Canberra i had rain at 3c its now 2.8c at my home
Hosing down in the Well
Hope BB and LM are coping it
I observe after being stuck in Mascot for the best part of the day, the airport was a right kerfuffle with the wind in Sydney.
Snowing a bit heavier Mt Victoria now
Yep. Landed 2.5 hours late from ADEL. Pilot crabbed it in sideways and a bit pitched over in a quarter roll...wrestling the whole way in on approach. Banged it down hard. Good job all round and earned his money. Slightly surreal though we had 60 Japanese school kids on tour squealing the whole way in...with a massive hysterical roar on touchdown!
Was out there all arvo, shooters hill, black springs, Jenolan. All very moist with sporadically heavy snow showers ever 20-30mins.
Not a lot was sticking but certainly cms have accumulated throughout the day.
Textbook snow cloud (below) moving through Black Springs around 4:30pm. This thing put about a cm on the ground in about 10-15mins.
Was disturbing me digging holes in Anglesea until 7.30pm alright.
Oh to be at buller tomorrow...
Flew in and out n Dh-8s, like paper bags in the wind.
Hope it's still there in a coupla weeks!
I observed plenty of rain on the way up to Stirling. Fotting chains to everything at ticket box. Beautiful drive up to TBJ...dry squeaky and very grippy snow....and the hordes headed off to Buller.
LM reporting 15cm to 5pm. Been a lot of precipitation since then.
dck n balls?
Please someone answer this question.
I really want to know too. Especially since the Perisher AWS did not record precipitation for a whole 9 hours since 4am. Please
Wait till sun to determine how much.
Snow started about 1000asl uphill from omeo
I'd guess about 70-80cm for Perisher since Wednesday based on their reporting (they didn't report Wednesday daytime snowfall it was about 10-15cm).
Slow drive up to Buller. Fitting chains to all vehicles at Mirimbah. Dusting of snow below gnomes. Proper cover at white bridge. Meringue covered ferns.
That lowered to 750 by around 12:30am. Snow all the way up to Hothkaido
Lots of coldies coming across the bay this morning.
LM should be doing well, probably a fair chance of snow on the Dandies as well.
Cold in the mountains, Thredbo -7, Perisher -6.
Thredbo has snow guns blazing on High Noon live cam.
What, didn't they get enough fresh?
It'd be silly not to make snow with these temps haha. Main runs always need more snow.
Still snowing at Ngarigo! Yay!
About 3cm overnight and cold
Light, flakey (5c peice size) snow, no breeze here at Island Bend NSW.
Wasn't too bad. Though I need to sort out the issue of cold feet. Two pair of socks isn't cutting it.
Still coming down hard at Wilson Valley.
Like an army going to war...
Little bit off topic and deserves own thread, but I observe a phenomenal season! I thought climate change had ruined seasons of this depth for ever. And it is even more extraordinary that it was looking terrible until late-ish July. I think safe to say we were all worried. Crumbs!
I think you'll find most weren't worried. The biggest discussions in this weather forum come from trying explain the true nature of Australian ski seasons...
but I do agree things are starting to look above average after our second +half a metre dump for the season.
Panzers are still parked in a jam in Jindy.
I observe 30cm at BB ,even listing painted T to open happy days
Light snow in Jindabyne. Traffic everywhere, even in Clyde St (a no through road). I observe this town not coping with the visitation anymore
FB tells me queued back to Tyrolean turnoff this morning. Stuff that, Saturday skiing is not a thing for me anymore.
