Looks to be basically rain until Friday 10am. Wet snow up high at best.

Could be a solid cold rain event ahead of the main show?

GFS bolstering support for a 3rd shot on Tuesday to which EC has been there before. Perhaps a 5-10cm top up for good measure.
So have extended out date range to include. This where BB & Buller could pick up a quick gain given the SW flow.

As I hinted a day or so ago, always look for the back end once the conveyor locks in. Its the surprise in baggy.

AXS-C 4am Friday, Main Range:

25-30 knots @ resort level
FL: 1600m
700mb: -6°C
500mb: -22°C

That's good for snow down to 1500m, & lower at times.
What are the 500mb temps like on Sat / Sun? @Kletterer 's animation on the previous page moves too fast for my eyeballs, looks like -32 at the coldest point on Saturday which will be dank.

Jane's forecast on the marginal side for Buller for all of Friday isn't it? Pardon my forecasting ignorance.

-32°C early Sat, rising to -25/26°C by the evening.
Much of Sunday is c. -20°C but as good as over by then for snow accumualtions.

Expect road closures for the weekend, Driving from Adaminaby to Tumut will be very possibly impassable/ closed . Harrietville Hotel might be popular .
Won’t close, I’ve seen it with multiple cars trucks and boats off the road and they still didn’t shut the highway (snowy mountains highway) but yeah. Looking like a decent snowfall, 5- 10cm in Adaminaby sat. 40 - 50cm total for kiandra area and higher.
