Between 3am-7am Saturday is your chance IMO.haha im hosting a weekend wilderness FA on my property at 600m in the tallarook ranges starting 8am Saturday. Scenario-based activities focussing on cold weather recoveries etc. . ill let you know if we get a flurry. id expect a bit of hail but looks like maybe 5mm yeah?
AXS-C 4am Friday, Main Range:Looks to be basically rain until Friday 10am. Wet snow up high at best.
Could be a solid cold rain event ahead of the main show?
GFS bolstering support for a 3rd shot on Tuesday to which EC has been there before. Perhaps a 5-10cm top up for good measure.
So have extended out date range to include. This where BB & Buller could pick up a quick gain given the SW flow.
What are the 500mb temps like on Sat / Sun? @Kletterer 's animation on the previous page moves too fast for my eyeballs, looks like -32 at the coldest point on Saturday which will be dank.AXS-C 4am Friday, Main Range:
25-30 knots @ resort level
That's good for snow down to 1500m, & lower at times.
-32°C early Sat, rising to -25/26°C by the evening.
Won’t close, I’ve seen it with multiple cars trucks and boats off the road and they still didn’t shut the highway (snowy mountains highway) but yeah. Looking like a decent snowfall, 5- 10cm in Adaminaby sat. 40 - 50cm total for kiandra area and higher.Expect road closures for the weekend, Driving from Adaminaby to Tumut will be very possibly impassable/ closed . Harrietville Hotel might be popular .
