Yep it was a mass of cars, we were parked up ahead of them all and enjoying the snow, my madness of leaving melbourne at 7am paid off thankfully

Some more pics from today's adventure. From the phone so nothing too exciting.

In one of the photos you can see the proper flakage we had.

I have video too but no idea how to post it...

Avoiding the chaos on the main road up to Donna Buang paid off today, good snow, great scenery and virtually no people. Longish walk from the gate though.

Looked like 3 pushbikes had gone up ahead of me....that'd be tough going in 15cm of fresh snow!

    Pretty sure it's mine ;)

But one day we were coming home in a Buller taxi and I looked out the window and saw the number plate ASW542 which was my dad's car at the time, the car was inundated and the plate was just visible, he thought we were in one of the other carparks. I saved a bit of hassle that arvo!!

Did they eventually open the summit gates to walkers? We gave up at 12:30 and drove down for lunch in Warburton and drove past probably 100 cars waiting in line at the 1st gate .

Hubby driving from Goulburn to Mudgee today. Snowing a fair way along the trip, pics looked good. Decent amount of snow. Haven’t spoken to him much to get a better idea, but it’s a winter wonderland on the route.

This morning I observed: flakeage about 5 minutes out of Mansfield; all time faceshots in the trees around Bull Run/Southside/Fed (I don’t know Buller but it was gooooood); and Feathertop looking incredible. In fact, the whole Ovens looks incredible.

Today was simply AWESOME. Heavy snow at Guthega (Perisher) and a great deal of deep,
deep, light powder. We kept getting fresh tracks as the snow bucketed down. Fantastic conditions amongst the trees. Quote from Mr 12: “this is like overseas snow!”.

Observation. Three faceshots in three turns last run of the day. Fact .Buller was bull shit good today. Under good snow definitely the best sub alpine terrain in the country.

A branch came down from a great height on a car queued four cars in front of us on our way down at lunchtime. Scary.

I see one of the Buller utes was written off at gnome corner last night in a similar fashion as well.
