Buller looks to be doing really well out of this.
Starting to look pretty mint up there

Radar looks like it has a fair bit more left in it also. It’s absolutely caning down at Buller, I’m doing a few chores and did a couple of runs to the rubbish hut about half an hour apart, my footprints were half filled.
Looks like nice heavy wet base building stuff. Hopefully the lower sections of the Sth and Nth side are still getting that.1hr accumulation at Buller, 1-2cm? since 10:30.

agree, some seriously heavy snow falling. I mesured ~15cm on our walkway, which is semi-protected by overhanging trees. So would be higher than that on the open slopes.20cm since it started yesterday I reckon.

Yes, nobody who skis is enjoying the present Lockdown No. 5 but we have not got up to No. 6 yet.Lockdown 6.0
I was wondering the same. The Thredbo live cams have been indicating quite clearly snow at High Noon and Merritts which are both lower than the snow stake cam, even Friday Flat looks more snow than rain. Maybe the snows just a bit wet so is running off, can only guess really!Snow stake cam at perisher seems to have been clear of snow (and just plain wet) since around 9am when they cleared it despite sub-zero temps and precip. Anyone at perisher can confirm whether it's been snowing and not freezing rain, faulty cam or some other anomaly?
Buller getting nukedBoM looks to have dropped the ball for this one IMO, RE: Buller Precip chances.
Dark Blue base plate, Northerly Aspect - says albedo will take over in marginal Freeze Levels.I was wondering the same. Can confirm, absolutely dumping down. 3hr accumulation is around 5 cm nowBuller getting nuked

In fact the late Jacques Cousteau would've enjoyed these conditions.

Lake Mtn. might get some proper real snow out of this one.Radar has it pumping and all heading towards Baw Baw and Buller.
Its fairly slow moving too so we should squeeze maximum out as it moves over.
