I would have thought people living there would be able to "Exercise" 5 km from home?Dinner Plain Poma run looks the best I have seen it since 2019.
It has a no entry , no fun allowed sign planted into it now. It looks like it has been Machine groomed .
@Boodwah and @hongomania might be XC skiing down the 4 wd track towards Precipice plain and The Victoria river, the lucky rotters !I would have thought people living there would be able to "Exercise" 5 km from home?
That little lip in the foreground was the first air I ever took!! Enzian love........circa 1990. I observe Buller looking sweet. (I also observe we hit a hard right in front of the lodge, jumped over a little kicker then hooked left and launched off the little gully lip.) Good timesAbout another 10cm overnight at Buller. Sun poking out this morning.
Took four hours from Canberra, I think there was an accident. But 80% of the state are locked out? Surely it should be fairly easy travel by P standards?
Sensational! You’re also in the alpine ash on the lower Northside.Digging out the car this morning, I want to say 40cm or so as a system total for Buller.
Snow was heavy, and it was raining light.
Went for a ski down Buller’s Northside, nothing incredible, but great to be in the snowgums.
Great photos (and love the "wraiths" reference)...thanks for sharing, that bird pic is fantastic! The last week in the southern ranges has been pretty chilly with steady rain lower down over the last couple of days. Misty clouds rose like wraiths from the hills after dropping their fluffy white cargo through yesterday at around 1300 metres.
Even a light coat has me feeling like a kid in a lolly shop
Seems like our little buddy felt the same way, excitedly flitting from tree to tree
Snowgums put on their brightest coats. The snow really brings out the colours on them
Down a couple of hundred metres, the sun was burning off the mist, snow gave way to clay, although the colours were no less vivid.
Now the Alaskan polar bear socks are keeping my toes warm, a drop of red keeping the stomach warm, while I enjoy everyone else’s snow posts
