There was heavy sleet at telstra tower an hour ago. Probably snow now.
FYI ppl. Heavy sleety smeared splotches and low fog is reducing visibility on the way up to telstra tower.
1.6 and wet in Nerriga . Buddawangs probably getting snow.
Snowing in Braidwood
Would be snowing hard in Bungendore and Burra just south of queanbeyan. I reckon it may even be snowing in the new suburb of Googong in the southern suburb of Queanbeyan just east of Tuggeranong.
Down to 2.3 now in canberra. 1.5 in goulburn
Kings highway from ACT border should be snowy.

Looking forward to the observations under 1st light from unusual spots, but looking at the observations from various locations east and south of Canberra, not a lot of precipitation after the main rain band and temp drop to around 0...

The Gong Doppler Wind Radar painting a picture of Convergence and Confluence atm.
Perisher are claiming 5cm of fresh snow and I’m claiming 30mm of beautiful rain in my gauge (south Canberra).
30mm that's a good drop for down there! Best rain in how long? The Monaro area would be loving that sort of rainfall right now
Busy surface winds in Canberra. This event has much Equilibrium to establish before its settled.
Fresh widespread snow is good, but the biggest thing out of this system from the resorts point of view IMO is the very good freeze that has come out of it. -7/-8C at MR resorts last night. That'll put the thaw on hold for a few days at least.
Nerriga hotel this morning
This event looks like a mini-version of the fabled July 1965 "Snow in Strange Places" episode.
Spot on. This has saved the pack for another week. It was shot on Sunday. Should be some quality slush in coming days once it starts thawing again.
No wind at the Valley so trees still filled with snow.
(Oberon Plateau, Black Springs 1200m).
20mm of beautiful rain with snow mixed in overnight. Snow still lying on the ground and trees on the protected western side of hill across the road from our house.
Still raining lightly and has been doing so since first light(much heavier with snow from 11pm last night). Current outside temperature at 9.30 am is 1.3 c. Very cold, well below freezing wind chill, easterly winds this morning. Very unusual in this area to get rain when an easterly wind is blowing although I don't think it has been true east all the time.
Have a look at the sat image. You can see cold dryer air coming in from SE. Moisture coming from the NW over the top.
Looking east/SE from Queanbeyan. Some nice snow cover around what looks like Captain’s Flat area to me
