Hey sorry to bother you all but I’m after a pair of lightweight touring skis about 170 to 180cm long with or without tech bindings for skiing in oz and some japan pow. I’m 14 years old and 62kg ( intermediate skiing abilit). These will be mainly for touring the high country multi day trips but the odd day on the resort. PM me if you have some you are selling or no someone that is.

A bunch more detail as what you are looking for would be good.

Or ask some more detailed questions to work that out.

And / Or tell in more detail what you want to do with the gear.

I have a pair of 2013 Blizzard Free Cross 178’s (effectively same ski as Dynafit Seven Summits - 113, 78, 100 sidecut) mounted with Dynafit TLT2. Happy to sell either with or without the bindings,

I bought the skis new for about $450, happy to let them go for $150 to a forumite. The skis are comparatively lightly used (I mainly tour with my patterned base skis) but the bindings have seen about 4 seasons of good use, but still service-able - maybe I’d let them go for about $300. So $450 all up.

    https://www.ski-review.com/ski_reviews/review/blizzard_mountain_free_cross_2013/

A light woodcore ski with a Titanal topsheet - weight 1500g per ski.

Good for beginner to intermediate touring, but will chatter at higher speeds, especially in firmer, more icy conditions and on groomers at speed.

It’s in good nick. It’s a reasonably good width for Aussie conditions, but will be too light for most skiers, especially someone who wants to charge.

I’m upgrading to a set of DPS Cassiar Alchemists.

But hopefully you get a better offer...

I’ll also put this in the Gear Swap as a thread in any case. Pick up in Melbourne, or I could post at cost anywhere.

No worries - hopefully you can do better.

As @skifree said - outline what is your preferred terrain, are you an intermediate or advanced skier, and also approx height/ weight, and also what your BC/ touring experience/ preference is - side-country, steeps, distance touring,

Also a touring ski for Aussie conditions won’t have the same specs. as a ski for Japow.

Presumably you’re looking at tech. bindings etcetera.

Given your size / weight I'd really recommend you look for tech bindings to reduce the weight and improve the touring efficiency.

At 62kg plus say 15kg (ideally 10kg) pack plus your weight on skis at say 75kg. So you are looking for 170 as you say in your OP.

These things pop up now and again rather than regular like. At some point you may need to take what you can get to start with on a plan to upgrade as you go.

Keep an eye on the offerings here in gear swap.

You've used the term high country, does this mean you are Vicco based?
