Flakes again @ the stake
The Falls Creek Table o meter now looks like enough to XC ski !!...at least on the table , short laps but still possible.
TBJ( Lower Mt. Stirling) and Whiskey Flat ( Hotham to Dinner Plain ) got a few more cm.s overnight too.
Now I have slight FOMO!
LM has a wafer thin cover for desperate Nordic Ski deprivation syndrome patients.
The Upper Mountain at Mt. Stirling is filling in a bit more but that spot always holds snow. It certainly looks wintery now but the lower mountain is not XC skiable yet.
Hotham cams looking pretty snowy after last night, nice to see it starting up. Anyone know how much they might have got?
Mt.Buffalo got a gossamer thin dusting of snow overnight as seen via the Dingo Dell camera.
Buller looking ready to go for tomorrow with about 10cm of fresh:
Baw Baw got an extra dusting overnight just going by what is on the tables at the Village.
My guess is up to 10 cms above 1600 M. in many VIC. locations.
Back door special for thredbo on Sat pic
Radar showing first wave just reaching the coast now... hopefully more to follow.
Gone black outside at our place. Probably because of this:
Will it make it that far inland? Fingers crossed
Another cold day on the Jindy North Shore. Mountains cloaked in rolling cloud and drifting flurries
Rode up to Yarra Ranges (unnamed) highest peak, north of Lake Mountain today the back way. Very pretty but glad I didn't take my XCs.
Temperatures in the southern Vic ranges topped a balmy 11C in the sun today, about 5 now. No snow at elevations between 600 - 1000metres. Patches of blue skies, moody mists rising from gullies
Yesterday light but steady rain for a couple of hours from roughly 1pm, then on and off for the rest of the afternoon And night.
We swapped snowboots for gumboots yesterday and went hiking in the rain which has a beauty all of its own. Bracelets of liquid diamonds fell On gum leaves. If you look closely at the 4 - 6 beads which were about 3 mm diameter, in the foreground along the leaf’s edge, you can see reflected on their surfaces, surrounding leaves that play host their own glass jewellery
We ate and drank and danced with these guys, partying the night away
After all, they’re fun-gis
This year’s good rains have brought them all out of the woodwork. Literally
Partying all night, it felt like the longest couple of nights in ages.
Probably since about a year ago
After spending the day chopping firewood, we just watched Mother Nature graffiti across the sky
so now we feast
@dogski , happy now?
Next moisture band not far from NSW resorts now. Hopefully another 5-10cm in it.
Snowing at Hoth
Found a bit out there today. The natural snow over the past few nights is in good shape but outside of the groomed snowmaking it’s sketchy. Just because it’s yet to compact and form a base. Managed a couple of turns in resort. Machine snow was on the wet side (base building) and not easy turning. But made for good sculptures.
Nice photos...sorry where are they taken from?
Perisher. First one is just below mid station.
A lovely heavy rain shower this morning on the Jindy North Shore, certainly a little warmer than the past few days.
Why ain't you up the hill with the rest of the mob?
No tickets for PB this year. Friday at Thredbo most likely, possible Merrits open.
