Quite mild here in Canberra after some very welcome overnight and morning rain (here, not in the snow resorts!).

Light rain on the ride home from Melbourne. Of course forecasts and models had nothing about rain today, I didn't bother taking the raincoat.

Same building as PWC, but they aren’t the only ones in Tower 1, they’re on much lower levels ;)

Cold here in Syd after a pretty mild day.

    Sorta.
DGZ from 520 to 640mb, so ~120mb growth zone. That’s still pretty good!

    Sweet.
But I prefer not just skiing the groomers on man made.
Looks an sounds like still needs decent storm to fill it in.
Granted I'm not there btw , been waiting for some more terrain. ;)

Guthega was nice last weekend but on the groomed only and patchy cover, though I've skied it in worse. Yes we need another dump!

Clear skies in Jindy, rain last night, roads could be icy. Full moon reflecting across the lake. Beautiful.

Apparently a couple of cars off near Penderlea. Fitting chains from Wilsons this morning, but I'm not really sure why. Icy on the hill.

Pretty simple realy. Farktards think snow = icey roads. You slow down when its snowing only. In reality the more dangerous times for ice are those really cold clear mornings when there is moiture on the road that will set as solid slippery ice.

So the usual situation is. When its 2 degrees and still snowing, water coming up off the road on tires, swishing sound of liquid water on the road - you'll get safety sam driving 20km/hr with hazards on. But the next morning when its cleared overnight, is now -5 and all that liquid water is now ice - the same idiot will be tailgating trying to drive 100km/hr.

Well yes, but the Perisher road didn't feel icy by the time I drove up, temps hovering around 0c. Earlier it apparently was. There's a few regular spots and Penderlea is one of them.

I get your rant, as I was driving up our steep hill with a notorious shady corner at a speed I felt comfortable with, I was feeling the same about the car tailgating me LOL

Sorry it’s groomed but only slightly topped by man made , what’s your problem with that , we skied it for a week last year and voted it good
The point here is that there is 70-80cm of hard packed base , a quick look at the predictions in here I see another metre on the horizon, book your trip
