Great finish to the season, good skiing right till the end.

Perfect timing to finish as it is melting pretty quickly now, as you would expect for October.

Thanks all for everyone's contributions over the year, I hope the thread has been useful in people's trip plans and making sure people got the most out of their time at the snow.

I'll keep this thread open for a few more days, after which we can retire to the Summer Banter thread, no doubt with more discussion in the Rumour & Master Plan threads as well.

Goodbye snow.
Till next year.

Was a shakey start July but but made up for it in dumpage later.
Wont forget this one in a hurry, the best Ive had in a decade.
And thanks to all for the many reports, was a good year for Buller Forum.

What a great season!

We have had everything from marginal rubbish, to some of the best conditions I have experienced at Buller over 'that' weekend in late August. All the while, the Buller section has been a hive of activity and its great to be involved.

Thanks to...

-CM for steering the ship, great reporting and new blog
thumbsup.gif

-LTB and the other on-mountain wanchors for their constant updates
thumbsup.gif

-PP for his tech support
thumbsup.gif

-The luvpole cam for keeping us informed around the clock
thumbsup.gif

-missb for her tireless work playing cowgirl in a room full of indians
thumbsup.gif

-Koflers
thumbsup.gif

-Dad for unlimited Navara access
thumbsup.gif

-The entire crew for keeping the section humming all season
thumbsup.gif

Now roll on summer and hopefully some Buller MTB action

see ya next year - some great days this year, but too much work got in the way and I missed the Saturday after the dump due to course work for Abom which was a bummer.

Guess I'll have to console myself in Utah and then Niseko in March

<graceful curtsey>

And who knows, maybe by next year I’ll have whipped some tame into those wild Indians.

. . . Although, hopefully not.

Yup, 'twas a good season. Pics of that major dumpage make me crave for more of that though. But the upside is, only 2 months from now and I’ll be jingling my spurs, shaking my tassels and twirling my lasso in more northerly climates - where I hope for plenty of chilly fluffy white stuff to play in.

And that’s just the pina coladas

Well, can I just say thank you to you all for making my snowless winter slightly more bearable! I had one day at Buller this year, but didn't get on the snow myself (unless a toboggan counts).

The live reports, post trip reviews, general musings and (justified) apple pie obsessing (with a bit of good natured utter cr*p thrown in) was very informative and entertaining. Discovering that I went to school with CM about 25 years ago was also a surprise!

Hopefully I'll be able to post my own trip report next season and my username becomes redundant!

Thanks again, this is a great forum.

Settled the Koflers bill on the weekend - not as bad as I thought! I was a bit nervous considering it had been a long season and we go there most days, but it turned out to be not so bad.

Well worth it for the location and home cooked quality food.

An EPIC end to 2010 and the graphs tell the story!!!

The late August dump SAVED the season for the snow fans, but many were still burnt earlier on.

I'll close this thread on Sunday or something, so if anyone has any reflections on the season gone I'd do it soon.

Those depth graphs are just what I need for my records, skidown! Where did you get them? And do the other resorts produce them too? If so how can I access them?

Was up at Buller yesterday and built a couple of little rails behind the BB1 top station.

There was plenty of snow to have some fun with. Some others up there were riding and tobogganing BS all the way to the bottom from the top of BB1.

I had a couple of runs down LBS on Saturday, 08:30 odd. They where nice, the lift was
a little slow going up though :|

It was very firm as it dropped to 0° on Friday night, which the walk up would have been
hard work otherwise. I might up load some pictures later if I get some time.
