Oh here is a nice clause...

By purchasing the Season Pass you agree to immediately pay Perisher Blue Pty Limited a $500 penalty if someone other than you uses your Season Pass whether you are aware of the misuse or not.

So 2013 Freedom Pass holders do not get a discount on the 2014 Freedom Pass - they pay the same price as someone buying a Freedom Pass for the first time.

Yeah I don't really like that either, but the price is the same at least as 2012 [IMG]

Thredbo gives NEW holders free skiing ALL of September and existing holders get nothing, which is worse IMO

Nice work!

I'll buy mine in a few days, happy to support Perisher again as they started the season pass price war.

It's easy enough to get from Melbourne to Perisher on a weekend, it takes just under 5 hours from work/home to Jindabyne and it's only a 2 1/4 hour drive so much easier than Hotham/Falls.

Upon checking my emails properly Perisher did run some nice specials for season pass holders this year. Free demo day in a week or so, some free tickets to events and of course FREE first tracks is a nice offer as well.

i have made use of the free first runs, and free night skiing..best fun i have had on a board! its not every day you can blast down front valley at 60Kph! and not get yelled at by patrollers.
shame i wont be here for the the free demo days.. but back the weekend after that. igood to see the money is invested in resort improvements, such as new lifts.

To be honest I expected a big price rise this year to $799-$899, but given the poor early season that may have restricted any possible price increase

If you build it they will come.

Ran it past the higher authority. Conclusion was, "Why would you go regularly without us?"
Construction still in progress. Let's hope Top Tower doesn't come before bridge built. [IMG]

I don't think you can compare it to a gym membership considering how many people have one and don't use it for fear of pain the next day [IMG]

I just bought mine and one for Tips Down Jnr. Are the early bird passes being offered unusually early? I did not expect they would offer these so early. Is anyone buying Thredbo as well? I did that in 2012 to mix things up a bit. I regret buying my national parks season pass last week I would've bought the season tube passes. May the rest of the 2013 season be good for you all.

Scroll down in the info page it lists what happens at each tower (nice change from last year) it doesn't however say what it will rise to.

was our discussion...PB didn't use his Thredbo season pass at all (unforseen other events took precedence).
And we knocked back opportunities to go to Hotham and a NZ trip because we had the season passes already underutilized.
They are great if you are heading back to that one resort over and over, but after 3 years with them, for us, it's time to take the shackles off for a year.
2014 - the year of wanderlust.

I agree with you mama but I've gone the opposite a bit. I love skiing in aus and nz but.....been there done that. I'm happy to pick a resort, and my choice is thredbo, even bought a lodge membership. So pass is perfect for me, I'm never going to ski anywhere else in aus/nz again, pretty much.

totally get it tbnext.
Never thought I wouldn't renew my Thredbo SP. [IMG]
Doesn't mean I wont get to Thredbo at all next season, but just leaving options open I think.
But being a girl...I may change my mind [IMG]

tbnext,

when people say they buy a lodge membership, how do I know which accommodation is a lodge that accepts membership and not just a commercial accommodation that just has the word "lodge" in its name?

Can only speak for me, I kept paying more and more for a room for 2. My friends love skiing but had babies, bought houses etc. so we researched and visited lodges. Trust me I seriously looked at hotham, 1/3 the cost. But, it's the best investment I've ever made for a utility value. I love at least half the members, my friends are coming skiing again, my baby Neices are learning to ski like demons. A very satisfying purchase.

After two seasons of the Freedom pass (15 days 2012, 6 days 2013), I'm ditching it.

Long story short - I feel Perisher shafted us on Station accom. At several points (early and late) it was cheaper for me to book online through the station website (walk-up rate) than to book as a freedom pass holder.

Adult price looks good, the kids price is still on the expensive side. They need to have a junior pass for young kids, say up to 10 or 12 years old.

Tower is about to hit tower 1, so we'll see what happens

I will hit 13 days this season, so it's well and truly paid for itself

I have managed 6 days at Thredbo, so won't be buying at Thredbo pass

I've decided to pass on the Pass. Can't seem to get more than break even days in and if perchance next season is a whopper and I end up doing 9 or 10 days then I'm not going to complain about having spent a couple of hundred more than I needed to in a fantastic season but will be count myself lucky. Will probably get a 5 day any day pass and then just add days on as they come good.

Yep I was tempted to do the same but I can always change my credit card details before the 1st of May....

The way I see it $199 and I get a free ticket for Spring, which is worth about $110, so that leaves me with 5 days to breakeven and I'll definately be doing at least 3 weekends

What has worked well this year is the skitube add on. Won't have that but with MrsH not studying next year I hope to drag her onto the slopes on most of those days and that means the two of us in the car to Smiggs, so we will get a NP annual pass.

Indeed, start late, finish early, have a day off, have more beers etc etc

As long as you get 6 days in, anything else is creampie

Yes it does take the sting out of the short days with weather, other random issues, jumping out back country ,travel / leave lunchtime to get home etc.

I might renew in three years, at the oldtimers price.

Last year the free day pass was for an adult even if it was from a child's Freedom Pass. So you should be able to give the free day pass to an adult. How you do that is another matter... Do you need to go to a Perisher office with the friend or can you do it online?

Last year new Freedom Pass holders got a free day pass for themselves AND a friend. This year, you only get one day pass.

Oh well, enjoy!

I saw there was a discounted National Parks annual pass available for holders of the Seniors Card (60+).

Buying last year was a waste of good money, rubbish season for most of the time. What was perisher going to do? Put up the price and no one except the silly would buy it. It's the only sane thing they could do or numbers would be down next season.

Got mine for 2014.... only managed 13 days this year. Hoping next season is better so I can get a few weeks in a bit earlier. [IMG]

Got mine again, will be the 3rd year. Tomorrow will be day 18 for me, managed to get 27 days last season.

Hopefully the snow gods are kinder in June/July 2014.
