Just got back from watching it. Was standing behind Lindsey and Lara as they were called on to the podium. Watched most of the races from next to the finish jump and it was interesting to note how the front runners approached the jump (no noticable movement from tuck) compared to the others who would come out of the tuck just before it.

They showed slow mo comparisons on the television. Great to watch the controlled aggression.

Two more wins for Vonn. Canada celebrates as they finally get a podium, from Larisa Yurkiw. Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) will be nominally happy but not ecstatic, they cut her from the national team at the end of 2012/13 so she started her own one-person team and has been on the podium twice since then.

Yeah. Tina had bad luck too. Lindsy and Larisa were awesomely strong. Huetter faltered and corrected from a bad line and still managed 3rd.

Svindal fastest in training and hungry for the big win Saturday. Theaux looked strong too.

The course is a little different again this year. Was interesting watching highlights of the Streif 2001 to 2008 today. Quite contrasting course surfaces. 01 to 03 were brutal.

Which course is different this year? Lauberhorn or Streif? Different routing this time? Or just prep or course set changes?

The Lauberhorn. Entry/Exit on the Gap looks easier and less compression on the lower section.

More snowmaking to fill in the compression maybe. Is the snowbase in Wengen good, bad or average this year?

Not sure. Looks ok on my little TV. Like all courses in Europe they prioritise efforts to build appropriate surfaces. Lienz had barely any base at all but the course was still el primo.

Just back from the women's slalom race at Flachau. Amazed at how fast they go though combinations, particularly the flush just above the finish. Amazingly fast. I thought I did well in the bottom section of the RAF championship slalom (top section I was rubbish) but seriously these women were amazing in the way they attacked.

Nice to see Kroell get his first podium for a while. Good rivaly between Svindal and Hansy.

Pretty flat course for the slalom - they almost get into a tuck in parts.
Not so much for the liking for Marcel.

The last jump in this Kitzbuhel SG is catching a few out.

Vonn a clear leader, however race has become a bit of a lottery with a wildly fluctuating fohn wind. Race been held up a couple of times.

odd, it seems to be ok for me. You do get an ad side of screen for a time when you go full screen, but otherwise. I did register to save my list of channels but it was also ok before that.

Not really, wasn't a long interview, but I think she has been listening to more Austrian dialects than Hochdeutsch.
