Dry as a drovers dog. I think the ski season is going pretty well considering the amount of moisture around. Very little R....n with consistent, if not really heavy snow falls. Lower levels suffering though.

Considering there has been bugger all snow, Falls, Hoth System and Bullville have done well to open a lot of terrain, we have been lucky with no rain events between systems and warm moments IMO, if August can continue on this path we may salvage a half decent season outta this crap year....

S / SW aspect favours the southern resorts IMO.
Radar shows it thinning out the further it goes to the north.

Clear skies and only a mild breeze now at Island Bend (finally). Weird thing is (as I look at the stars) the frozen particles falling on my face. Cant see any clouds - could it be a result of windblown from Main Range? Curious, never experienced same.

I observed several hours of great skiing up high at Mt P today. Wind blown and falling snow all day was filling tracks between runs with zero crowd. At least 5 cms during the day with more in the out wide drifts. Snow falling as far down as Skirider at about 1450 ASL around 3:30 pm.

I understand why people are saying there's a lack of snow etc etc (trust me, I get it), but you gotta understand this was ALWAYS going to be a fairly dry season with average snowfalls.

The best of the best here on the forum predicted a season with lack of moisture and cool nights for snowmaking (spot on IMO).

So far the season has trended more or less as predicted (if not better) IMO.

Back to observations - best as you can get on a winter's day here in Sydney. Mild AF

I bet she'll be pretty solid first up. Frost right down to the lake making it all white and reports of cars sliding off the Alpine Way last night.

I observe a beautiful blue bird frosty day in Lithgow spoilt by a coal smoke haze from all the farkers who still burn coal in their houses.

Have experienced it down there a few times. Could be "diamond dust" and its like fog but ice crystals forming instead of water vapour.

Or could just be the remnants of the system dropping out the last of the moisture as the air moves over the mountains. Have experienced snow coming from an almost complete blue sky up on the main range quite a few times. Probably more likely this as when you posted it was snowing heavily up at Perisher.

Temps in Adelaide have just dropped a couple of degrees as the first rain bands are coming through. Max temp might be a bit lower than had been predicted.

Looking like the most substantial front of the week coming through SA/VIC border now. Adelaide temp looks good fingers crossed for 10-15cm overnight and North P opening....

Good chunk of snow on the Cedarwood table early this morning before the lights went out. Guessing 10cm or so. Seems like a good result.
