I think...if you look at the latest shot, you can see wet sleety snow.
I say sleet...
It might be snow.... very wet & not sticking...
Looking at the temp progression from Buller.... it dropped .7 deg as the front came through & has held its own since....
Could translate to Falls maintaining the -ve temps....???
But the Falls car park is looking like it is turning to snow
snowing on falls carpark
See if it gathers on the cars, but I reckon this would be snow further up the hill...
lol you sure it's snow? Could be big rain?
its snow very wet cause its not sticking yet but its snow!
The front looks like dog poo now... looks like its deterioating (sp?).
That's cos the radars don't measure precip in the mountains, just the stuff approaching it.
Any snow yet CarveMan?
Its snow, its wet, but its snow.
still a pitiful -0.4 at FC, look very wet.. But snow's snow.
still rain on buller. its raining at falls too, dont kid yourself with the cam, until it settles its not snow.
edit: raining hard or what CM?
It does look wet, hopefully it's better further up the hill. Check it out in the morning, there is still heaps left to come through by the look of the radar....
Yer just saw the r*** on the FC cam, not good
but when lookout hill is 4.8C and its a front from the west i wouldnt be too hopeful it will be snow. I think praying for it to dry up before it warms up tomorrow morning is the best option unfortunately
And normally im overly optimistic.
eh? further up the hill? You're talking about falls creek right?
*off bagging flat creek*
ewww, wat an ugly shot of the car park now
say goodbye to the vic season, anything below 1700m is about to be washed away in the next 12
hours unless your still a fan of that thin track of manmade up at hotham.
Don't be so negative!! This is snow and its really really heavy, you jsut can't see it because the road clearers are getting it too quick.
temps to the west keep rising. rains not too heavy in SE melb at the moment.
Still raining, not too hard though.
Do you think that the snow is affected that much?
Thats right, go cut some turns on B street right now and assess the conditions for us CM
i think the snow was already affected bad enough today.
Looks white to me.
It looks white to me too on the FC cam but is it really?!
Good if that FCLODGE guy was on tonight.
Who cares about falls, skiing hot ham tomorrow.
thredbo is still around -1 so hopfully that holds, PB should do well out of this.
This is about the most moisture I have seen heading for the mountains this season. Too bad it is from the wrong direction and temps are high. Temps are not droping heavily in central Victoria so the cold air is a way off yet.
At least it is coming at night when the temps are cooler so we may get 'some' snow.
guru - u should stay away from that bong, its not snow.
it looks like some decent rain on the radar but as yet no totals over 10mm in VIC, so its not very heavy. Also there may be a fair bit of interference from the clouds giving a false sounding.
I think it might be alright in the morning.
im hoping that it is, but pretty sure it wont be.
Is there anyone at PB to give some obs.
wait and see.
Get back in ya hole vermillion let us have some hope, the temps are still in the negatives u know.
Looks like snow to me on the falls cam.
It looks like rain to me?
Anything at PB?
That is definitely snow on the FC cam now (10.54). Big wet chunks. Should be OK by morning but will stay wet tomorrow.
lol really looks like rain?
Only because it's not building up anywhere such as the cars or the road.
Buller is 1.3 i think the season has officially had the D*ck there.
Being snowing at CP for about an hour had about a cm.Last look about 10 minutes ago still snowing heavy
zero on thermo and just had another look and still dumping good 1cm.will take anything
