"Chains are being fitted to ALL vehicles from Harietteville Boom gate" - Vic Roads
Snow to lake level in jindy
Thats unusual for a NW type system
I wonder when/if Bogong High Plains road will be closed past Falls Creek resort in the coming days.... Seems likely as they tend to close it even with a few CM's on the ground. Party Poopers.
LM looking pretty good
Looks like Baw Baw did pretty well.
They should get fairly strong falls today with this next trough about to hit from the south west imo
Currently 4c at home(strezleckis south vic) but with this colder air about to hit I wouldn’t be surprised to see bit of sleet in the heavier showers.
Mount tassie currently 1.7c at 750m asl
Thanks. Dad and I were trying to recall the highest location in the Strezlecki's the other day (we originate from Mirboo North) - Mt Tassie.
Next round incoming. 6c here near Emerald, 3c at Ferny creek. 9mm of rain so far.
Temps are at 2.1 700m asl Trentham, Mt Macedon may get some flakes.
Have seen this before. Rare because usually the frontal cloud band (which has enough moisture to make it over the hills) is too warm for snow and you get rain instead. Shows how cold this sucker is. It could get ugly down there later today given he blobs of fluffy goodness in the following trough. Thundersnow.
Then likely to get bashed from the south properly on thrusday.
We'll be talking about this weeks weather for the next 50 years!
Its real winter here today, everyone is rugged up and rightly so.
Its so nice.
Forecast looks nuts, friday mission is on.
Thredbo live cams look insane right now. Very fast accumulations
Friday Flat is copping a hiding.
day late IMO.
Yep mount tassie is the highest point throughout the strezleckis sitting at about 755m asl
Quiet frequently gets dusting
Yep, but I gotta work Thursday.
Vis should be better friday, and the snow will still be around
warming though. be pretty sticky. but of course if you've gotta work you've gotta work.
Annndddd barely looks like it snowing on the basin cam
Meh, May snow mission, cant expect to much.
Just got to figure best option within day trip.
Blue Cow Live cam is up and running! It is dumping down huge fat flakes at the moment.
Stay on topic
Reports coming in of it snowing at Mt Macedon and also East of Ballarat (not settling there though).
Wouldn’t be surprised at hearing flurries down to 5-600m imo
Blue Cow Live Cam is just white
Yep, snowing at our place (Gordon near Ballarat) not settling.
Main range no good on the weekend big guy??
What elevation are u at Mick
Looks like a fair bit of heavy moisture on radar to come for you too
Oh main range would be sweet. Not exactly day trip from Melbourne material though is it...
Some great pics being posted on Instagram
We are on a hill, I think around 600 ish
Sun is out (probably not for long) at Diner Plain
I observe heavy snow now falling in my front yard at 1100ASL.....pics don’t show it too well...20 month old granddaughter loves watching it.
Yep Definitely snowing at Mt Macedon -Trentham down to 1.6 with the radar showing precip
Not so live
wowzers. great photo!
Will the hay bales disappear from view by the end of this storm (burnt hut)??
Probably @chicski ......but my plans were thwarted.... need a new plan to get out and tour there once this settles. I doubt they will reopen if it keeps snowing. The clearer was busy as it was from Wilson’s to the resort!
The way i see it is we get a shittonne of snow in which case the resorts will open on the weekend. Or the road will be cleared to CP and we can go touring.
Snowing nicely in jindy now
Balmy 3c in sunny Cooma. Saw some snow on the hills around Bredbo and local visitor centre steering oldies in 2wd via Canberra rather than Tumut.
I observe epic late May dumpage everywhere!! Easily gonna rival May 2000, will it surpass.....possibly
