Another Blue Bird here at Perisher
good morning from beaut bluebird buller
Very nice at Buller.
They have started grooming quite a few black runs, which is an interesting turn for the mountain.
Expecting cloud later, and hopefully a 5cm topup overnight.
Mild settled morning in Melb. Spring feels like it will arrive soon...
Doesn't feel like Melbourne will reach the predicted top of 16 today, still a lot of cloud cover and a light breeze keeping the lid of temps. 13.5c currently...
Buller has clouded over. But geez it was nice this morning. We went up to the summit for Sunrise.
Same, absolutely glorious at Thredbo with wind now kicking in and making it even nicer.
From my perch high above Tumba I see dark clouds forming in the west and they look more like the non snow type than the snow type. Temp quite warm this afternoon at 6c after a chilly -3 overnight.
I also observe that most pics I see of Buller give me the impression of a soulless wasteland , doesn't really entice me to have a look at it someday. Maybe I am wrong but that's the impression it gives me.
Well Team Bears could not disagree with that observation....
U need a trip down to CampCk and a weekend up near Cleve Cole....
Oops no obs....!!
it's been cool in the big city of Aust....little if any rain all day in Melb.some periods of sunshine through the higher clouds.Small birds seem to be active ....suggesting Spring and a change in weather pattern from these serial westerlies to higher temps cannot be far away.
Both wind and cold increasing for the last couple of hours in PV. Something is on the way.
I've been there twice. First no snow, next some snow. But it's a lovely village and the some snow trip gave me a glimpse of a resort with potential.
I observe bloody cold in jindy tonight. Wind dropped off. Camping too... Wish me luck
Footy commentators in Geelong just mentioned rain. That's good.
Had a shower earlier tonight here in canterbury.
It's still very mild outside.
It's 3c. Balmy.
Quite windy now, and I would say increasing, in Smiggins. Broken high cloud overhead.
Sago falling at Buller
Cold and some clouds scudding through in Thredbo.
Cuppluh cents fallen at hot ham (and cheese sandwich) and still coming down.
Dumping at LM since 3:30am.
Light wind in Smiggins. Only 1-2cm of snow overnight on our driveway, and continuing to snow lightly. Road up to Perisher looks shiny under headlights, but I can't see yet whether it is "wet shiny" or "icy shiny".
Looks like about 5cm on the Cedarwood table.
I observe some weather coming in at Jindy
Hmm, maybe a day trip on the cards
I observe It's going to be a 'snow in strange places' kinda day. Breezy with high cloud in the NSW southern highlands.
Cloud on the mountain in Thredbo. Calm winds and no snow in the village.
Edit: I take that back, a dusting in the village.
Yeah looking pretty good at Buller. @CarveMan?
snowing moderately at hotham.
about 3-4 cm so far
Snowing lightly in Thredbo village now.
Concur. Looks every bit of the 13cm claimed.
Pretty decent 1cm flakes in thredbo
Light snow at island bend this morning. Been in the car park at smigs for the last half hour, car park has turned white.
Snow falling to 800m now just west of Hotham.
Canberra radar now looking good for Nimmitabel & Brown mountain area. Have we got anyone on the ground down there for some 1st hand reports/pics ?
Puking to carpark level in Thredbo (~1300m)
Buller just looks amazing. Snowing very lightly.
Snowing fairly heavy in PV. Light winds
Snow forecast for the Sth Coast to 600m.
Be the top of the Clyde , Pidgeon House, Brown mtn......
BB apparently did well...
Blowy here in Melbourne, stepped out to the shops and the wind chill is damn cold.
Friend just told me its snowing down to Jindy.
Confirm. Snowing Jindabyne.
Anyone staying in jindytown today? If so, pictures please? Love seeing the town with flakes.
Heavy snow DP, approaching 10cm
needs a little more time to settle more. - big flakes with no wind
Dumping in PV now and the wind has arrived with it. Packing like mad to get out of ski tube car park without chains...
Be a great day on the hill for those that brace the weather
Heres a pic friend sent from the lake
