Starting to see the main front & low dominate (South of Cape Leeuwin, WA) and overtake the subsiding front. This front is due to impact Vic Wednesday AM.
A mass of polar air can be seen trailing and to it's SW flank.

ASCAT obs from an hour ago put some nice 50 knot winds at it's core.

Courtesy of warm Western IO, the inland trough is the moisture supply for early Wednesday AM (pre frontal) in the SE:

Nice. Just came in to observe how far south that coldness is. Looks like its tracking due north in the animation.

1st actual obs I guess. Just started to rain at the high perch ,almost 0 wind (same all day) and a balmy 10c. Only rain up the hill tonight would be my guess ,doesnt feel like its going to cool much tonight.

Just went on a quick tour. This was the soggiest view for now. Was surprised to see some snow on the ground already in NZ I assume from earlier events.

Bucketing down all night at Mt Beauty and still going. Can't work because of wet ground.
Wind is picking up, cold air is yet to hit.
But it will on Thursday, particularly Friday. Snow is forecast.

Just under 2mm in our gauge in Farrer, ACT so far.

Hopefully it'll push further north as things develop.

Adelaide area about to get hit with the goods. Cape Borda as low as 10 degrees in the cold air. Collision of the NW and W air stream over adelaide looks great on the radar at present.

Impressive line crossing the bay in Melbourne now, not much in it on the radar - just looks epic. Apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum, uncertain if this should be in the Melbourne thread or this obs one. :emoji_confused:
