It's well packed Aussie fresh, like day old porridge.
Lovely ski tour this morning up to DTH. Good touring snow but not great skiing, a bit heavy with lots of snags under a good foot of Ozzy powder. Saw several big grey kangaroos, and 3 massive deer. Sorry about all the dog shots but tend to play with him in the snow whilst i wait for Balti to catch up. Coming down nicely again now.
Struggling to even get to 6c here. This next round isn’t going to help.
Went out for a couple of runs on Wood Run and Standard. Snowed relentlessly all morning, filling in skin tracks in between laps etc and still coming down hard. Morning report of 30cm is bang on with plenty more to come. Will go over Northside this arvo.
More flakes falling in Jindy. Big ones.

It is surreal how much snow is falling and how very few people( the luckiest b*rstards on the planet IMHO) are permitted to access it just to XC ski for their exercise and mental well being.

Move to the mountains then?In NSW you can now visit friends at their home (two adults can visit another home). Not really, home trail after skiing Cow Camp, I'm heading there shortly.
Looks from that angle, deep in the bushes of Village going through there, but that would make sense if one was going up.
Thats where they shot the last Star Wars film at the bottom of Village.
Current conditions on west ridge is snowy and windy.

Second part of that "Official" statement doesn't really make sense does it. ie: if you travel into a regional area and stay with yourself, this is illegal compared to traveling to see and stay with friends. Huh?Can confirm that this is allowed. May be the go.......

We are allowed to visit under caring rules. Ie for everyone sanity we are allowed to socialise.
Going on a holiday (ie paying from accom and staying on your own, even visiting your holiday property with your family_ doesn't count!!!

6C, wet, windy and feels like it should be snowing here in CBR.
Can't believe some people are lucky enough to be out for a little touring, lucky buggers...
Well if it makes anybody feel better I got absolutely drenched. It warmed up a few degrees whilst out so by the time I descended it was raining the last few hundred meters of vert. Freez level risen here to 1200-1300ish.
Still managed to ski within 100m of the car.

Unfortunately those of us based in Vic can't travel outside our immediate neighbourhood unless for essential activities such as work. Exercise doesn't count. So no going to Jindy for us. I'm in week 8 of lockdown (after an overseas trip). Driving me nuts...
Back on topic, wonderful photos everyone! The ones of the snow gums are stunning, and the ones of the tracks make me insanely jealous.

APIRA roof at Buller is clearing itself which usually a sign of some moisture but in this case it might just be the load of so much accumulation over a short period.

Yep, I also observe that in some Autumns, we get a nice long fine spell well into mid May before it then turns crap.. If this keeps up we will be sick of winter by June and ready for Spring.. Assuming you aren't planning on a ski trip of course..
