Camped last night at Jindy, wind came about 4am. Warm 4 degree overnight think it got warmer in the early hours

Thredbo - no one here, car park empty. Light spots on r**n
Bakery - only people sat inside. V weird

Or are we the weird ones for going up today?

We might run for safety before the rain really arrives in the afternoon.

Huge change for QBE - massive snow loss

Rain has not let up in Adelaide since 4am. Up to 13mm. Temp steady at 10C.

It does at least feel a bit more like winter in Adelaide after the warmth of the last few days and the rain is steady and quite heavy. Was expecting it to be a little warmer, or maybe that is just wishful thinking given we're in falls from the 21st

9am Melbourne Skew-T reveals freeze level currently ~3000m.
55 knots registered @900mb. That's gonna rock those alpine lodges this arvo. I note Mount William clocked 102km/h this morning.

PWAT sitting on around an inch... There's good probability of 20-30mm for much of Central Vic in that IMO.

45 knot wind gusts will give that impression. I'll agree to disagree with the source.

I observe another weekend of U/18 footy is a better choice than snow. Half-Backscratchers (14) with ball.

Mild and still dry in West Gippsland at moment.

Heavy rain (sometimes with little hailstones in the middle), 120km/h gusts, everything on wind hold except the carpet. Vouchers will be issued. Not amazing.

    Thought so.
This type of cirrus is a reasonably good indicator of some frontal occlusion. And to state the obvious; weather inbound quickly from that direction...

+4.5c at Mount William (1:30pm), so we’ve crossed the Rubicon, so to speak.
That’s enough to put snow on Buller above 1600m so we’re looking about 5/6pm until we start seeing snow on Buller’s upper reaches, snow to ~1600m by ~7pm IMO.

Just walked 100m from Heli Flat to ABOM cafe. Felt like I was scaling the Eiger. Wind out of control. Haily rainy bullets smashing into my goggle-less face. Still snow on Bourke St despite the 6 hour deluge. The snow that shall not die!
