Chair = Ridge
The chair footage looks to be interceptor after the middle spot where people can get on ? Or terminal quad..open to thoughts.
Yes that's the thing, has not missed out this year at all.. Next target 316
Back in storm 1 the piles from the carpark at Smiggs where 15-18ft high. They flattened it just in time for storm 2.
1.6 deg at LM, and r***ing in Narby
Full moon shimmering on lake Jindy
previous discussions have dissmised both for a number of reason - first and most obvious is that the chair has footrest. So def not Interceptor!
Geez that sucks Teckel. I love your presence on these forums and hope your shop makes millions. May the dormant Lake Mountain volcano erupt overnight and be 1000m higher in the morning.
Yup - raining at buller for the past hour. Westerly! Need to go back to -3? Is it expected to cool down again?
It's Summit chair!
Wont last long think positive ... BB temps marginal too
At the bottom
South p cam indicates snow still nsw above 1500m i reckon
i observe my current feels looking at all the pictures from this system...
More cars disappearing at a Falls Creek (from FC Facebook page)
Skunked twice in one season would surely be too much to bare!
0.0 and clear skies heading out of Cooma.
Moon setting in front, sun rising behind...
Perisher have another 15cm in 24hours, total 132 cm so far. Funny how in a different season 15cm would be considered a dump
Snowing still at Smiggins. Chucking fairly hard, bigger flakes than yesterday.
Winds by comparison?
If this is the rate she falls at today, another 15cm will be on the ground by lunchtime.
Sun is out on cruiser and high noon cams. And looking incredible TBH
Much the same as the last few days. Wind hold still likely.
Be interesting to know the thought process if they choose to run National Interschools GS today, will get pretty dangerous pretty quickly in the observed 30cm of Fresh... Some talented kids starting very late in the line up due to team positioning....SSA certainly canceled racing in less than this earlier in the year. Wonder how experienced Bullers race dept are, and if they would cave to the pressure of the inter schools staff?
Windy + whiteout.
Cant tell which country you are in from the flags?
Might just do a single run. Can't imagine them cancelling, it's a big day today, just about all events in various divisions.
In Europe they water down the GS track when theres fresh snow to ice it up.
Lovely view of the Perisher Centre from my car in the second row of the car park. A few cents on the ground. Quite the pile of snow they have pushed over beside the creek. Windblown snow, low vis. Would love to get some observation pics to the forum from up high but it looks unlikely as the snow continues delivering.
Just keeps coming down here at perisher
Lightly snowing still blowin
BBometer on the lodge balcony is almost covered
Monday and today shots below... had to take today's shot outside ...too much snow around windows
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Smiggins pub while waiting for those lifts to open
Good old Buller. -1 in the car park and raining
Buller rain will do a fine job of
We skipped nationals this year after some of the worst conditions ever 4 years ago and kind of OK conditions 2 years ago. I just told my daughter that it was raining, and she said "oh good" Seriously though, that sucks, good ol' Aussie snow.
We swapped allegiance from Falls/Hotham to Buller for next year. What have I done
A few tiny flakes mixed in now. Absolutely heaps of snow on the ground so bit of a first world problem really. Can hardly complain!
i observe Buller have also extended their season
word from Race dad
Pic sent agrees
Buller interschools is run by MT Buller ski lifts (SSA sold the licensing rights) and not a not for profit committee unlike in NSW/ACT. The resort therefore will call the shots. Mt Buller race department is very professional, so hopefully a fair and safe race will be run.
Only lightly falling snowflakes here outside the lodge at the moment. Hope it stays that way. A month ago, that broken branch in the middle was close to a metre from the surface. Cover is looking terrific
It was Summit at Blue Cow
Left apt at 8:30. One run. Back at 8:43.
'Ya shoulda been here yesterday!!'
Well they got one run in with only a couple of DNFs (one high profile kid) so would be about normal in that regard. Tough for the kids outside the top 10 runners, course would be shite
Based on the moist atmosphere yesterday arvo and the freeze last night the surface could be really good, unless it's just a crust and they break through. Visibility will be challenging.
Friend sent me this from the finish line
There was this at the start
And there's a pic story coming so PM me your best efforts!
Side note: is huffpost Aus mainstream yet? I observe we get more clicks than The Australian. Haha!
Awesome. Interschools at it's best.
Looks like this: https://www.ski.com.au/snowcams/australia/nsw/perisherblue/perisher-centrevalley.html
Wind is blowing hard at Perisher. A lot of snow in the air, but feels like it's windblown.
Cover is amazingly dry, some wind scour alternating with powder, so will be nice when vis improves!
