What are the chances of Alpine Way beyond Jindabyne closing Monday or Tuesday? Would you rather be snowed in or snowed out?
Clearly late to the party. Has anyone mentioned that EC is forecasting 2m! And I reckon some leeward spots could get even more. This will go down in legend. IMO.
http://www.australianweathernews.com/news/2005/050810050813.htm Very similar setup. Have a look at the "what happened" of the above link.
189cm (Most recent Spencer's Creek) + 213cm = 402cm. Now that would actually be legendary. Has that ever happened before?
Haha that is rediculous!! That def is similar to the 2005 event! Shows about 3-4inches of snow were I am
Can we repeat this in June 2018! Should be good for next weekend and will make great Spring. Should sell a few more passes....
Ive got a pretty capable 4wd and winch etc if any one needs help lol. Pretty awesome if it turns out over 1m or so and close to 3m total at Spensers
Lol.. I'm driving. It's got a brutal hook on Sat. If this stays. You'd expect 20/30cm around 800m ..in odd spots.
IMO I'm finding it hard to believe we'll get anywhere near that total. But if we even get half that ...
That's the thing. Looks good on paper but the paper is at arm's length from being writable. I do like the low level on it. Canberra subs kinda stuff.
I'm really wishing it was next weekend not the16th when I'm going down to Perisher. Sigh. I will have to live vicariously through all those there next weekend and hope you leave me a bit for the weekend after. At least there's a chance of snow at home in Bowral next Saturday.
Pressure at 929 on the bottom one thats big and 15m to 20m seas. I was down there in the mid 90s in 23m waves bloody awesome and like your on a different planet down there.
Never. It's unprecedented. 355cm in 1964 is as big as it gets (11AUG) Spencers Creek, as far as records go. * it hasn't fallen yet
Seriously we are looking at possibly 80 to 100cm over the period to 1400m awesome but no 3 or 4 m base IMo
Very similar, the deeply fetched ridge and mid level low being slungshot from WA later in week really stood out to me in this present day scenario. With the couple of cells sitting out between Africa & us, will be interesting what plays out in the week following as well.
As expected EC readjusts the low for Friday. Calling it to deepen and flick off into the Tasman. GFS still calling a peak over SE Aus
Spring does funny things last Sunday driving down from buller past mirimbah we were seeing some small flakes that had survived the trip down through the atmosphere even though the car was reading 6 Celsius at one point
