Not much point for rain in the cities, doesn't help the drought, only rain in the catchment and pasturelands help (us all).

as long as it rains we win either way
if its cold we get the good stuff
if its warm it helps with late crops.

According to weatherzone the rainband is weakening. id like to see their reasoning for this. blind freddy could look at the radar and see that it is still building as it moves east and the rainfall totals attest to this*. Some areas to the north east will have the top totals for this front, the alps of course will be up there too.

*note - i know blind freddy cant see, geez.

Been wet here at my place. At the moment it is a bit cool, and the temperature is dropping. So hopefully it snows tonight. Thinking about going on the opening weekend if there are any snow! [IMG]

Hadn't planned before hand myself, but may be up for it if we have cover too [IMG]

Heaviest rain band now through Cooma, heading up to Canberra

Just hit us (7.36pm), about 20km north east of Canberra. Seems odd as the 7.28pm radar shows it just at Canberra. Must be moving fast.

According to 7.39pm radar the main front hasn't reached us yet!

not only is the overlay of the radar image to map probably inaccurate (is inaccurate) but the collection of the RAPIC data takes a period of time. each image u see isnt actually a 'snapshot' of the front but a collage put together from data collected over time
