Obs from around Mt P at PV.
1. Firstly, the snowpack above 1850 ASL has survived that moisture onslaught amazingly well. The snowpack was in good shape prior and seems to have “absorbed” a lot of the moisture. Just IMO.
2. The 2 snowfalls prior to the storm 40 cms and 5 cms definitely helped.
3. The snowpack has been smoothed out and now has around 3 cms of fresh grauple on it - as at 10:30 today.
4. The “refreeze” of the base has kicked in. Could feel it underfoot up high when skiing off piste.
The upcoming forecasted new snow will “heal” any gaps etc if the totals are close to the forecast. IMO.
At low elevations, along Kosi Rd (say down to 1400 ASL) there’s significant snow loss. But it does not matter really.
Peri Creek circa 8:30.
