We skied perisher again today, was a great day but the snow was wind blown/packed in many areas today. Yesterday there was boot deep freshies everywhere but a little firmer today but fresh n fun none the less. Had a bit of a look over perisher back mountain this morning here's some pics
Great work, thanks for sharing. What time was that first shot taken (the one of your S lines)? Late arvo?
I trekked up to Perisher today for some first-hand obs. White, creamy goodness abounds! Some deep stashes evident (my elder son enjoyed getting knee deep between the trees at Smiggins), while other areas bore testament to the wind gusts at the height of the storm. The resort is now well set up for the remainder of the season ...A few pics (some already posted in the Perisher thread).
Unfortunately just light clear stuff. Also lots of dripping and meltage off roof and trees as temps rise.
Bugger, it could've earned itself another half a foot if it didn't love those Westerlies so much... 2mm/hr accumulating on the BoM AWS for Buller.
There was occasional ice pellets today at buller, with relatively light snow falling as I was finishing my final laps at around 430
I observe light flakes in the lights of the groomer on High Noon cam. I also observe he/she is slack on maintaining tiller pressure as they winch the run.
Had an awesome day at falls today. Left Mt Beauty at a little after 6.30, expecting some sort of delay or issue getting up the hill, but had no problems. Summit area looked well tracked off the groomers from the car park so decided to head over the back from the outset. Skied a lot of lines pushing far out from the top of scott and ruined chairs for much of the morning. A little wind blown in areas, but the first few hours in sunshine, no wind and dry, up to boot deep was fantastic. By far my best day of aussie skiing. The snow fences have done wonders the last few days. Much of the fence under scotty chair is buried, and there is a huge whale on last hoot. There has to be areas of wind blown that are easily 3-4m deep.
41mm for Perth since midday yesterday. Only 25mm progged by GFS. Probably another 15-20mm due today. Solid system.
Nice clear skies over Buller right now in the background. Local wildlife rushing to get up there early. Someone should tell him he's already missed out on the freshies...
Sunny and still at Carlsruhe....wood heater not on in road house....still outside and blue sky...sun streaming through windows..mild temperature too.
was there an inversion this morning Canberra airport now over 8 lowest was plus 3.5 but Turreranong went down to minus 2.9 Cooma airport also in the plus territory. Seems colder at Moss Vale and down the south coast!!
Nup! May well be the word of the season At this point I'm holding onto slight hope for a few more mm of it on Friday
Stunning blue bird day at Buller. I observe it's now time for power food. A light breeze, snow has firmed on the more south facing slopes but all skiing beautifully since I've been on them before 8.30 this morning
Can I pls commission a pic of the Summit from the corner of the Koflers deck at the top of the stairs up from the toilets. Would be much appreciated!! Also this is getting cheeky but from the corner of the bottom of Family Run as well if you're in that vicinity.

At 9am this morning, Wagga's Skew-T reading had warmer temps at 3000m than @ the surface. Deep inversion.
The better half took this tonight on the way to work. Snow on Buffalo. Crap quality but more than I've ever seen on the peaks. Slap on the wrist for driving and using a phone....
Albany airport, WA (68m asl) sitting around 5C @5pm and registering precip. That's about as cold as that joint gets in the PM!
Reconnaissance mission I assume? Sorry I didn’t see your message earlier @CarveMan. Not long after posting that, the Summit area’s blue skies changed just a little. By the time I saw your message later in the afternoon, this was the view. I don’t think that’s going to help much ! Checking what I already had, I do have one from Koflers deck. I would have zoomed in if I’d known though. One from Summit chair might help somewhat? Another from Slalom Gully, but probably not far enough over to be much use. Of course, if I won those Atomic skis, I could probably take them out to scout location and take pictures directly
